Planning and design
How do I start a bathroom renovation with you?
Book a design consultation. We visit your home, assess the room, structure, plumbing and ventilation, discuss how you use the space, and then prepare a written scope and detailed quotation.
Why don’t you publish prices on your website?
Every bathroom is different. The size of the room, its condition behind the tiles, layout changes, access and your selections all shape the scope. A quotation based on a site visit is the only honest way to describe it.
Do you provide design advice?
Yes. Design is central to our process. We help with layout, storage, lighting, ventilation, tile set-out and fixture selection so every detail is resolved before work begins.
Can I supply my own tiles and fixtures?
Often, yes. We will confirm suitability, compatibility with the waterproofing and plumbing rough-in, and lead times before scheduling the work.
Can you move the toilet or shower to a new position?
Usually, though it depends on waste falls, the floor construction and access beneath. We assess this at the consultation and explain any implications.
Do you renovate ensuites and laundries as well?
Yes. We renovate main bathrooms, ensuites, powder rooms and laundries, applying the same design and waterproofing standards to each.
Timelines and the build
How long does a bathroom renovation take?
A typical full bathroom renovation takes several weeks on site, depending on size, layout changes and selections. We provide a schedule with your quotation and keep you updated throughout.
Can we live in the house during the renovation?
Yes, most clients do. We protect floors, control dust and keep the site tidy. If it is your only bathroom, we can discuss temporary arrangements.
Who manages the trades?
A single coordinator manages every licensed and insured trade, so you have one point of contact from demolition to handover.
What happens if hidden damage is found during demolition?
We stop, show you what we have found with photos, explain the options and agree on any variation in writing before proceeding.
Will there be a lot of dust and noise?
Demolition is noisy for a short period. We use floor protection, dust barriers and daily clean-ups to keep disruption to a minimum.
Waterproofing and compliance
What is AS 3740?
AS 3740 is the Australian Standard for waterproofing domestic wet areas. It sets out where membranes are required, their heights, how junctions and penetrations are treated and how floors fall to wastes.
Will I receive a waterproofing certificate?
Yes. The licensed waterproofer provides a certificate confirming the work was completed in accordance with AS 3740, and we include it in your handover pack.
Are your trades licensed and insured?
Yes. Every trade on our projects holds the licences and insurance required for their work in Victoria.
Do bathroom renovations need a building permit?
Many do not, but structural changes or larger works may. We assess this at the consultation and, where needed, works are carried out under the appropriate registration and permits.
How long should waterproofing cure before tiling?
It depends on the membrane system and conditions. We follow the manufacturer’s cure times strictly and never rush tiling onto an uncured membrane.
Repairs and maintenance
My shower grout is cracked. Do I need a full renovation?
Not always. If the tiles are sound and there are no signs of water escaping, regrouting and resealing may be enough. We will tell you honestly which is appropriate.
How do I know if my shower is leaking?
Warning signs include swollen skirting boards, soft or lifting floors nearby, persistent mould, drummy tiles and stains on ceilings below. If you notice these, book an assessment.
Can you replace silicone only?
Yes. We remove all old silicone, treat mould, clean and dry the joint and apply quality mould-resistant sanitary silicone.
Do you offer tile and grout cleaning?
Yes. Professional cleaning, mould treatment and sealing can restore many bathrooms that seem ready for renovation.
Can you replace just the vanity?
Yes. We replace vanities, adjusting plumbing and checking for hidden water damage underneath as part of the job.
Showers, baths and accessibility
Can you convert my bath into a shower?
Yes. Bath-to-shower conversions are one of our most popular projects. We rebuild the area with full waterproofing to AS 3740, correct falls and a quality screen.
Should I choose frameless or semi-frameless shower screens?
Frameless glass offers a minimal look and easy cleaning, while semi-frameless adds a slim frame for rigidity and suits certain layouts. We help you weigh up the room, style and maintenance.
Do you design accessible bathrooms?
Yes. We design bathrooms for ageing in place and accessibility, including step-free showers, grab rail blocking, comfort-height fixtures and generous circulation space.
Do you work in the hills suburbs?
Yes. We work across Upper Beaconsfield, Emerald, Cockatoo, Gembrook and surrounds, and plan for tank water, septic systems and bushfire overlays where relevant.
What areas do you service?
Beaconsfield, Upper Beaconsfield, Berwick, Officer, Pakenham, Narre Warren, Narre Warren North, Harkaway, Guys Hill, Cardinia, Clyde North, Emerald, Cockatoo and Gembrook.
What warranties apply?
Your work is covered by statutory warranties under Victorian law, and products carry their manufacturers’ warranties. We provide all documentation at handover.
